Thus Howard Carter responded to Lord Carnarvon as he peered into the tomb of Tutankhamun. Although it had been robbed in antiquity, the majority of the tomb’s contents, including the sarcophagus of the pharaoh, had remained untouched since they were interred over 3000 years ago.
Our design is an artistic rendering of the intricately knotted rope and clay seal that secured the copper handles of a burial shrine surrounding the king’s sarcophagus. Behind this, having been protected by this simple “lock” for millennia, the famous golden funerary mask of Tutankhamun emerges from the darkness.
