The Villa Romana del Casale in Sicily boasts one of the largest collections of Roman mosaics yet discovered. Covering over 3000 sq. meters, the early 4th c. AD pavements illustrate scenes from mythology, nature, and Roman aristocratic life. Perhaps the most famous is the “bikini girls” mosaic, which depicts a group of women in bikini-like outfits competing in various sporting events. Our design features an artistic rendering of the "discus bikini girl” on a background of white tesserae, echoing the original composition.
