The pursuit of "areté" is the driving force behind everything in ancient Greek culture. Translated commonly as excellence, "areté" is much more than a simple distinction. It is physical and moral perfection, beauty, strength, courage in battle, the ability to speak well.
The maxim "ΕΠΑΙΝΕΙ ΑΡΕΤΗΝ" once inscribed at the entrance of the temple of Apollo at Delphi instructs the worshipers to praise excellence.
In our design, the Delphic maxim is shown between two tripods, a symbol of Apollo and his oracle.
