One of the most unique and monumental boundary markers in antiquity, the Arch of Hadrian delineates the old part of the city of Athens from the one built in Roman times under Hadrian.
As one walks toward the Acropolis, an inscription above the central arch, on the monument's west side reads:
ΑΙΔ' ΕΙΣΙΝ ΑΘΗΝΑΙ ΘΗΣΕΩΣ Η ΠΡΙΝ ΠΟΛΙΣ (This is Athens, the old city of Theseus)
On the east side as one walks toward the Temple of Olympian Zeus, another inscription over the central arch reads:
ΑΙΔ' ΕΙΣ' ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟΥ ΚΟΥΧΙ ΘΗΣΕΩΣ ΠΟΛΙΣ (This is the city of Hadrian, not of Theseus)
Our two-sided shirt depicts the Arch of Hadrian with the Greek inscriptions from each side enlarged above the drawing. The front depicts the western face of the monument with the eastern on the back.
This thick cotton t-shirt is comfortable, soft, and its tubular construction means it's less fitted.
