One of the most recognizable ancient monuments in Rome, Trajan’s Column stands in his forum to commemorate the emperor and his victorious campaigns. The freestanding column is most famous for its spiral relief sculpture, which artistically depicts the epic wars between Rome and Dacia (AD 101-2; AD105-6).
