The Third or "Ornate" Style of Pompeian painting developed during the late 1st century B.C. and was popular until the early 1st century A.D. It embraced the flat surface of the wall through monochromatic panels of color augmented by stylized architecture and small vignettes featuring bucolic countryside scenes. Our design is an artistic rendering based on a painting from the Villa of Agrippa Postumus at Boscotrecase.
