"I am Pazuzu, son of Hanpa, king of the evil spirits of the air which issues violently from mountains, causing much havoc."

A demon with a scale-covered body, a snake’s head with canine and feline features, two pairs of wings, bird’s feet, and a scorpion's tail –the image of Pazuzu was a terrifying sight. His appearance was so fearsome that it had the power to repel other evil spirits, especially the demon Lamashtu, who attacked and infected people with various diseases. In popular culture, Pazuzu is the primary antagonist of the 1973 film “The Exorcist” as the entity that possesses the young Regan MacNeil.

Our design is based on a Neo-Assyrian bronze figurine dated 800-700 BC, likely used originally as an apotropaic pendant to ward off evil.
